Terms of service

1. The service

Provetale analyses the datasets you upload and writes reports about them, which you can read online and export as PDF, Word or PowerPoint. You need an account, and you must be at least 16.

2. Your data

You keep all rights to what you upload and to the reports made from it. You give Provetale only the permission it needs to run the service for you: to store, analyse and process your data as described in the Privacy policy. You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for not uploading data you are not allowed to share.

3. Reports are explanations, not advice

A report explains patterns in your data. Its figures are computed by code and checked against the evidence, and each report says whether it was fully verified or only partly. It is not financial, legal, medical or other professional advice, it cannot tell you why something happened (it may suggest possibilities and says when it does), and it can be wrong when the data is incomplete, unrepresentative or mislabelled. Decide for yourself, and check what matters.

4. Plans and allowances

• Free ($0): 5 reports in total, for the life of the workspace. They do not renew.
• Regular ($15 a month) and Business ($150 a month): a monthly allowance of reports that renews with each paid billing period. The allowances are provisional and may change; a change never reduces what you have already paid for in the current period.
• Introductory reports: one extra report at the Regular level and one at the Business level, to try them. Each can be used once, ever, per workspace, after your own allowance is spent.
• No overage. When your allowance is used up, no further report is written and nothing is charged on account. You choose a plan to continue.

A report that fails before it is written does not count against your allowance.

5. Payment

Paid plans are billed in advance each month through our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record and handles tax. Prices are in US dollars; depending on where you are, tax is included in the price or added to it, and the total is shown before you pay. You can cancel in the billing portal; you keep the plan until the end of the paid period. Your first payment can be refunded in full within 14 days; the details are in the Refund policy. Free use needs no payment details. Paid plans are not yet on sale; this section applies from the day they are.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Provetale to break the law or anyone's rights, to upload malware, to probe or disrupt the service or other people's workspaces, to bypass allowances or security, or to upload data you are not permitted to process. We may suspend an account that does, and tell you why where we can.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep Provetale available but do not promise it will always be, and features may change. If a change materially hurts you we will tell you in advance. These terms may change too; a change that matters will ask for your acceptance again.

8. Ending

You can stop at any time and delete your data in the app or ask us to delete your account. We may end the service or your access with notice, and will give you the chance to export your reports.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Provetale is provided “as is”, and its operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions made on the strength of a report. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Provetale is run from Dhaka, Bangladesh as an independent software business. These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh.
